Using GetHomeSafe for Monitoring your Journey Management Plans

GetHomeSafe - Corporate is a cloud based Journey Management solution combining an App for quickly logging journey plans, GPS location sharing, check-in prompts and all backed with a fail-safe (out of coverage) alerting system and real time supervisors dashboard.

Logging your Journey Management Plans

Staff simply use our Corporate Safety app to log their journey management plans before they leave; intended destination, ETA, road conditions, job number and even vehicle details (perfect for rental cars) can all be easily recorded.

A favourites feature enables regular journeys to be saved for a quick start, so quick we think you can log a favourite trip faster than you can send a text saying "I am leaving now, will be 2 hours"! 

 

Off you go, on the road again

Once tracking is started, Journey Management Plans are displayed in real time on Team Leader's dashboards for reference.

GPS location, remaining battery, check-in notes and remaining time are updated from the app to the dashboard every two minutes, all you need to do is focus on driving.

If you drive through an area of no coverage the app will store your GPS tracking and update the server when coverage is regained.

As your journey nears completion and your ETA approaches you are reminded to check-in up to five times via a notification on your phone.  Simply check-in as home safe or extend the timer to give yourself some more time.

 

Not home safe?

If a users fail to check-in and acknowledge the safe completion of their journey before their timer expires, the GetHomeSafe fail safe alerting system kicks in and their Team Leaders are alerted by email and SMS.  

Alerts include a quick link to a Journey summary, including GPS tracking, remaining phone battery, coverage prediction and trip details.

The Team Leader then has a requirement to follow up the alert via their dashboard within 30 minutes or it is escalated within your organisation.

 

Really long Journeys

For longer journeys, over 2 hours, we recommend using a regular check-in interval; this requires staff to check-in at a maximum of every two hours (or whatever set interval) during their trip rather than waiting until the end of their trip.  

Using a recurring safety timer allows for an alert to be raised much earlier rather than waiting for the entire ETA of the journey, it also encourages staff to take a regular break and avoid fatigue.

Digital Log Book

Similar to Journey Management, GHS is a fantastic and simple way of logging trips, departures, sailings and even flights.

Being phone based a user in not restricted by a device hardwired to the choice of transport. You can log boat cruises as easily as you can log flight plans or quad bike journeys.

Our app allows users to set up favourite trips so your skippers, drivers or pilots simply open the app, select their route from the favourites list, enter a reference like passengers on-board (POB) and hit start. In under five seconds they have logged a trip with POB, which is shared to management’s real time dashboard!

No more radioing in your passenger numbers!

The cloud based and real time nature of GHS allows for management to not only have situational awareness from anywhere, but also a digital record of what has happened and the ability to download and reuse said data (passenger numbers) for anything.  Perfect for meeting any trip reporting requirements you may have.
